CINC (CINC is not Chef) is a free, open-source distribution of Chef Software's infrastructure automation tools. It provides equivalents to Chef Infra, Chef Workstation, Chef InSpec, and Chef Infra Server under a freedom-respecting license. The project is community-driven and aims to make Chef's tooling freely available without proprietary restrictions.
CINC builds and distributes open-source versions of Chef's tools (Infra, Workstation, InSpec, Infra Server) under free software principles, maintaining feature parity with the upstream projects.
