Freesound is a collaborative online database of Creative Commons licensed audio samples, field recordings, and sound effects contributed by a global community. Users can search, download, and upload sounds for use in music production, sound design, and research. The platform has been operating since 2005 and is maintained by the Music Technology Group at Pompeu Fabra University.
Users upload and share audio files under Creative Commons licenses, while others can search and download sounds freely via the community-driven platform.
