Keel
An AI assistant whose memory belongs to you.

Keel is a local-first desktop application for Mac and Windows that serves as a personal AI assistant, storing all notes, context, and history as plain markdown files on the user's own disk. It supports multiple AI model providers — including Claude, GPT, OpenRouter, and Ollama — allowing users to switch models without losing their data. The app is open source under the MIT license and requires no account, no telemetry, and no server.
Keel runs as a local desktop app, saving all user context as plain markdown files on their own machine, and connects to user-chosen AI model providers via swappable backends.
