Knot DNS is an open-source, high-performance authoritative-only DNS server licensed under GPL 3+. It supports modern DNS features including DNSSEC signing, incremental zone transfers, dynamic updates, and response rate limiting. The server is designed for high-throughput, lock-free operation and targets platforms such as Linux, BSD, macOS, and other POSIX systems.
Knot DNS operates as a lock-free, authoritative-only DNS server with configurable XDP zero-copy mode and automatic DNSSEC signing, available as open-source software for download and deployment on POSIX systems.
