It uses a public-private key architecture (OpenPGP) to ensure passwords are never exposed to the server, and supports granular sharing, MFA, and audit trails. Passbolt uses a public-private key (OpenPGP) architecture where private keys are generated and stored on the user's device, encrypting each password individually so the server never has access to plaintext credentials.
