GoldenRetriever
AI search that watches your videos and hears your audio — not just transcripts.

GoldenRetriever is a macOS desktop app that indexes local video, audio, PDF, and document files using multimodal AI, enabling users to search their entire media library by meaning in plain English. Unlike transcript-based tools, it processes visual content and audio natively to understand context, tone, and on-screen elements. Users get sourced answers with timestamps and one-click navigation to the original file, with all data staying on-device and AI traffic routed through the user's own API key.
Users point the app at local folders; multimodal AI (via their own Gemini API key) indexes each file visually and aurally into a local vector database, then answers plain-English questions with timestamped source citations.
