How Many People Live Inside?
Draw any area on Earth and get a population estimate instantly.

How Many People Live Inside? is a free interactive map tool that lets users draw any custom area on a world map and receive a WorldPop-based population estimate for that shape. It supports neighborhoods, cities, countries, or irregular regions. A public API is also available for developers to programmatically query population estimates using GeoJSON polygon geometries.
Users draw a polygon on an interactive world map (or submit one via API), and the tool calculates a statistical population estimate using the WorldPop Global2 2025 dataset at 100m resolution.
researchers, urban planners, developers, and curious users who need population estimates for custom geographic areas
