Linkerd
Service mesh without the mess — security, observability, and reliability for Kubernetes.

Linkerd is an open-source service mesh for Kubernetes that adds security, observability, and reliability to any cluster without requiring code changes. It is written in Rust, designed to be lightweight and fast, and is a graduated project under the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Engineers use it as an alternative to heavier meshes like Istio.
Linkerd injects lightweight Rust-based proxies as sidecars into Kubernetes pods, transparently handling mTLS, load balancing, and telemetry without application code changes.
