About

The Good Food Institute (GFI) is a nonprofit, science-driven think tank accelerating innovation in alternative proteins—including plant-based, cultivated, and fermentation-derived meat. It works to advance the science, policy, and private sector commitment needed to make alternative proteins as affordable and appealing as conventional meat. As a donor-funded global network, GFI aims to transform the food system for the benefit of people, animals, and the planet.

Problem

Conventional meat production cannot sustainably meet rising global demand while also achieving climate, biodiversity, and public health goals.

For

scientists, policymakers, food entrepreneurs, and investors working on sustainable food systems

How it works

GFI funds research, shapes policy, and mobilizes private sector investment to accelerate the development and adoption of plant-based, cultivated, and fermentation-derived proteins.
